Hi, I am Sandra Coleman, Executive Vice President of Operations, I have been in the mortgage industry since 1985 so I have seen all the highs and lows of this awesome industry. My focus has always been on the Operations side and my goal is to ensure that Operations and Sales work with each other to achieve success. Success to me is providing the best customer service to our borrowers and loan originators to get loans to the closing table as quickly and as efficiently as possible. I was born and raised in Fairfax, VA and married for over 37 years to Rial, a retired Army Officer. We currently live in South Carolina living our best life!

If I could sit down and have dinner with a famous person, I think it would be Clara Barton. I was a Red Cross Volunteer while I was in high school and came to admire her and what she did for soldiers during the war so I would love to sit down and have a chat with her!
Kevin came to Intercoastal from the banking industry with over 30 years of banking and financial services experience with the last 20 years in Human Resources. He is a results-focused leader who is responsible for leading ICM’s overall human capital and facilities administration strategy.
He has worked alongside our company leaders to build and manage our employee relations, creating a comfortable environment that reflects and supports our company’s needs while advocating for our Employees. Billy Graham –While not without controversy, Billy Graham was known for his ability to impact and influence huge crowds. He had a seat with many US Presidents. I think it would be interesting to understand why he did what he did,how he did it,and what he wishes he had done differently.
Executive Vice President and Production Manager at Intercoastal Mortgage. I’ve been a top producer in the mortgage industry for over 21 years, currently responsible for managing and closing an annual loan volume of more than One- Hundred million dollars in residential real estate purchases and refinancing. Before getting into the lending side of the housing industry, I was a Production Manager for NVR Ryan Homes in Gainesville, Virginia. I am proud to be a Mountaineer and a native of West Virginia; I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from West Virginia University in 2001. I am as focused and dedicated to my career as I am to my family. I live in Ashburn (Brambleton), Virginia with my two children: Robbie and Emmelina (Emme). I enjoy spending time with my family and taking quick trips to sporting events and other seasonal activities.

Josh Cilman has been involved in the mortgage lending business since 2001. He began his career at Intercoastal Mortgage at the entry level, and then rose quickly through the ranks to serve as loan officer, senior vice president and finally executive vice president. Josh has successfully originated over $1.5 Billion in loans, and continues to be a top producer at ICM. But despite his success, Josh treats every client as if they were his first and only customers, keeping them informed and minimizing their stress throughout the process. Through his long career at ICM, he learned first-hand what’s involved with the application process and how to help clients avoid pitfalls. He’s also dedicated to answering his customers’ questions quickly and efficiently, so he stays available by cell phone even in the evenings and weekends.
Having grown up in Northern Virginia, attended George Mason University and lived in the area since the 1980s, Josh also understands the appeal of the region for his clients. More importantly, his background has given him insight into the region’s real estate market cycles over the last few decades, as well as where it may be heading. To provide an even greater level of service to his clients, Josh created the Cilman Group, a handpicked a team of seasoned mortgage banking professionals.

Martin Luther King Jr.- I have always admired MLK’s perseverance in the face of incredible adversity. At dinner, I’d want to learn more about what kept his spirits up and his drive strong during some of the darkest times in our country’s past. While any comparison to the civil rights movement and the mortgage industry is absurd, the characteristics that made MLK the leader in one of the greatest movements in United States history can be applied to many aspects in life.
Josh was born and raised in Northern Virginia and graduated with honors from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business. He married his high school sweetheart Heather and is a father to three beautiful children (Noah, Lilliana, Sophia) and a pup named Daisy. He has a 19 year old sister, a 22 year old brother and a 37 year old step brother. He has this crazy family that is comprised of incredible people from all different walks of life.
He has a love for martial arts, hockey, golf, travel and comedy. He has had his back broken and been held up at gunpoint. After that thrilling experience, he spent several years training in the martial art of Krav Maga. He played competitive hockey from a young age all the way through college.
He grew up in and around the mortgage business, starting out at as an intern in college. He earned the position of Chief Lending Officer by age 29 and was named Executive Vice President by age 34. As the Executive VP of Intercoastal Mortgage and the Chief Lending Officer, his role is critical in the daily management of his company, developing their suite of loan products and managing his personal origination team. He runs his team like a family and finds a huge amount of joy watching them grow.
He has a thirst for learning new things, spending time with the people he loves and laughing as much as possible.

If I could have dinner with anyone dead or alive it would be my grandfather one more time.
Julie has over 30+ years of P&L and Process Improvement experience across several industries. She has a master’s degree in industrial engineering and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Having Loan Officer experience in the past, she joined MVB Mortgage in February 2020 as EVP of Process Engineering to assist with the merger of MVB and Intercoastal Mortgage Company. Currently, Julie leads the Intercoastal Mortgage, LLC organization in process improvement efforts that focus on the customer experience and cycle time improvements. Along with our partners at Lenderworks®, she works to focus across the mortgage process to implement innovative technologies that bring value to the customer and the organization. Julie strongly believes in TEAMWORK and loves the saying, “It is amazing what a team can accomplish when the individuals don’t care who gets the credit.”

He may not be famous to the world, but he was to me. It is my dad. After spending over 60+ years working as a Physical Therapist with disabled children (Easter Seals), he passed in 2016 at the age of 92.5 years. He worked at least part-time doing physical therapy until he was 86 years old. Quite a legacy…….
Jonathan Kinard is the Senior Vice President of Construction Lending at Intercoastal Mortgage where he oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of Construction Lending. Jonathan has spent his entire 25-year career working in Construction Lending providing support to loan officers originating construction loans and working to strengthen builder relationships while providing first class customer service to borrowers. Outside of the office, Jonathan and his wife, Lauren, are actively involved in their community with the organizations HomeAid National Capital Region, NVBIA, Vienna Little League, and Vienna Volunteer Fire Dept. Additionally, he volunteers to coach youth sports and is frequently seen cheering on his son Ryan and daughter Julia from the sidelines.

Kearse Lowe Carpenter has more than fifteen years’ experience working in the mortgage origination arena. She joined Intercoastal Mortgage, LLC. as the Vice President of Quality Control in February 2021. Prior to joining ICM, she supported the Mortgage Division at Capital Bank, NA. out of Rockville, MD for approximately eight years in a similar role. Her focus is mortgage loan quality control with focus on Community Fair Lending.
While working full time, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Science Medicine. She also holds a certification in Massage Therapy. Some of her hobbies include painting and gardening. She enjoys giving back to friends and family by sharing therapeutic bodywork and her artwork.

I have always loved history, especially the Tudor Monarchy. If I could have dinner with one person, it would be Queen Elizabeth I.
Queen Elizabeth I, the former Queen of England and Ireland, the last Tudor monarch. She reigned for 45 years and I would love to hear the history from her point of view. I want to ask her questions about her time as queen and her Father King Henry VIII and her mother, Anne Boleyn.
My primary focus is on the Disclosure Desk, Compliance, and Set Up Group, which includes Appraisal & Title Ordering. I have been in the mortgage industry since 2014. I have a 22-year background in the banking industry. I led the implementation of the Disclosure Desk Department as part of the TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule in 2015. She is a native of Clarksburg, WV, where she currently resides.
